SSC CGL 2021 Exam Overview:

SSC CGL stands for Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level of India. Every year the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam for different government posts. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC CGL Exam for the recruitment of Grade “B” and “C” category posts in various Government Ministries, Departments and Offices.

The Combined Graduate Level exam comprises four stages i.e., Tier I, II, III and IV. The first two exams are conducted in online mode whereas, the other two exams are in offline mode.

The tentative vacancy for SSC CGL 2021 exam has been released on 25th February 2021 and tentative vacancies for CGL 2021 is 7035 in which 2891 vacancies are declared for the General category. SSC has mentioned the total number of vacancies available in 2021 in the official notification. The online application process for SSC CGL 2021 exam was begun from 29th December 2020 and continued till 31st January 2021. All aspirants can register themself for CGL 2021 exam by clicking on the link given below:

  • Visit the official website of SSC CGL- ssc.nic.in
  • Click on the link “Apply” and select the CGL option.
  • Select the “Examination” link and click on “Part I Registration.”
  • Now enter your “Personal”, “Contact”, and “Educational Qualification” details.
  • Now, click on the “Register” button.
  • You will receive the registration number and password via email.
  • Log in using your “Registration Number” and “Password” and select “Part II Registration.”
  • Now select the payment mode- offline/online and pay the application fees.
  • Upload your scanned “Photograph” and “Signature.”
  • Download the form and take its print out for future reference.

Important things which you should keep with you while filling the Application Form:

  • Scanned copy of your Signature (1kb < Size < 12 kb) in JPG format.

SSC CGL Recruitment 2021 Application Fee:

Candidates can proceed to submit the application fee for SSC CGL 2021 either via online mode (through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards) or offline mode (through cash in SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan). A candidate must pay Rs. 100/- as SSC CGL 2021 Online Application Fee. The category wise examination form fee details are given below:

SSC CGL Recruitment 2021 Selection Process:

The SSC CGL exam is conducted in four stages namely: Tier I, II, III and IV. Check the stage-wise exam pattern given below:

  • The candidates who secure the SSC CGL CUT-OFF in Tier I will be able to appear for the Tier II Exam.
  • Separate cut-offs will be fixed for Paper-III of Tier-II (i.e., for the post of JSO and Statistical Investigator Grade-II), Paper-IV of Tier-II (i.e., for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer), and for Paper-I + Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e., for all other posts).
  • Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.
  • In Tier-II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of JSO/ Statistical Investigator and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will be required to appear in Paper-III and Paper-IV respectively.

SSC CGL 2021 Recruitment Syllabus:

SSC CGL Tier 1:

CGL Tier 1 exam is an online, multiple-choice exam consisting of 4 sections and 100 questions in total. The total marks of Tier I exam is 200. Duration for the SSC CGL Tier I exam is 60 minutes (80 minutes for differently-abled candidates).

SSC CGL Tier 2:

The SSC CGL exam pattern for Tier II consists of 4 separate papers:

  • Quantitative Aptitude– This paper has 200 marks in total. The duration of this paper is 2 hours.
  • English Language & Comprehension- This paper has a total mark of 200 and the duration for the paper is 2 hours.
  • Statistics– This paper too has a total mark of 200 and the duration for the paper is 2 hours.
  • General Studies- Finance & Economics– This paper too has a total mark of 200 and is of 2 hours duration.

SSC CGL Tier-3:

SSC CGL Tier-3 of SSC CGL 2021 exam is in the form of a descriptive exam that tests the written English/Hindi skills of the candidates. The examination is conducted in offline (Pen and Paper) mode and students have to write essays, application, précis, letter etc. in this exam. The exam is out of 100 marks and the total duration for the exam is 60 minutes. The total time allotted for PWD category candidates is 80 minutes. Tier-III paper has to be given only by those candidates who have applied for the post of “Statistical Investigator Grade II” & “Compiler”.

Tier-IV examination consists of skill sets required for a few specific Government Jobs posts filled through SSC CGL.

SSC CGL 2021 Admit Card:

  • Every candidate who registers for SSC CGL Exam within the stipulated time will be assigned an e-admit card/hall ticket/call letter that can be downloaded from the official website of SSC.
  • Tier-2 exam Admit card (administered to only those candidates who qualify for Tier 1 exam).

SSC CGL Answer Key 2021:

After the SSC CGL exam is conducted, the officials will release SSC CGL Answer Key and response sheets. Candidates can refer to the answer key and calculate the marks scored in the exam. In case of any objections regarding the correct options, candidates can challenge the answer key on the official website. The SSC CGL answer key challenging option will be opened as per the schedule as decided by the officials. Candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee and challenge the answer key with the required documents.
